Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (‘Terms’) govern your use of the Genutext website at www.genutext.ai and all related services (‘Services’) operated by Genutext (‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’), a UK-based sole trader.

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should not use our Services.

01Services Overview

Genutext provides AI detection and plagiarism checking services. Users can submit written text or upload PDF documents to receive an analysis indicating the likelihood that content was human-written or AI-generated, along with plagiarism source matching against online content.

Our Services operate on a pay-per-scan credit model. Users purchase scanning credits which are consumed when a scan is performed. Scans are processed in real time and submitted text is never stored on our servers.

02Account Registration

To use our paid scanning features, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

03Credits and Payments

Scan credits are purchased through our payment processor, Stripe. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP) and include applicable taxes.

• Standard Credits allow scanning of documents up to 3,000 words.
• Extended Credits allow scanning of documents up to 8,000 words.

Credits never expire and are non-transferable. Once a credit has been consumed by a scan, it cannot be refunded. Unused credits may be refunded within 14 days of purchase by contacting support@genutext.ai.

04Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Services to:

• Submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Services
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Services without our written consent
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Services
• Resell or redistribute scan results or credits without our written permission

05Accuracy and Limitations

Genutext provides AI detection and plagiarism scores as indicative tools to assist your own review. Results are probability-based and should not be treated as definitive proof of AI generation or plagiarism. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy and are not liable for decisions made based on our scan results.

You acknowledge that AI detection technology is evolving and that no detection tool can provide absolute certainty. Always apply your own professional judgement when interpreting results.

06Privacy and Data Handling

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. Submitted text is processed in real time and never stored on our servers. Only scan scores and metadata are retained.

07Intellectual Property

The Genutext name, logo, website design, and all related intellectual property are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding, trademarks, or content without our written permission.

You retain all rights to the text you submit for scanning. We do not claim any ownership over your content.

08Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Genutext shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the Services.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to Genutext in the 12 months preceding the claim.

09Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent or abusive behaviour. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease immediately. Any unused credits at the time of termination for cause will be forfeited.

10Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
