AI text detector
AI detection that starts a review—not a verdict
Check English prose for AI-writing signals, understand the result, and keep a person responsible for every conclusion.
Free first pass
See the document-level signal before creating an account
The public preview is deliberately narrow: it offers a quick AI-only result without presenting that result as proof.
English text from 300 characters
Paste continuous English prose. Very short samples cannot be submitted because they provide too little context for the current workflow.
Up to 350 words
The free preview analyses a short sample and returns one overall AI score and label. It does not include sentence-level results.
One preview per day
The public scan is rate-limited by a privacy-preserving hash of the network address used for the request.
AI detection only
Plagiarism source matching is available after sign-in as an optional mode in a paid scan, not in the free preview.
Full review
Move from a headline score to inspectable context
A paid scan uses one credit and can analyse a longer document with a sentence-by-sentence breakdown.
- 01
Paste text or upload a readable PDF
PDF text is extracted in the browser. Image-only or scanned PDFs need optical character recognition elsewhere before they can be checked.
- 02
Choose AI only or AI plus plagiarism
The same scan-credit workflow lets you choose whether to add source matching. The two results remain separate because they answer different questions.
- 03
Review the passages
Paid results include sentence-level AI signals where the analysis provider returns them, alongside the overall score and label.
- 04
Keep a report if needed
The full breakdown is kept temporarily in the current browser session. You can email yourself a copy before closing the tab.
Interpretation
What Genutext's current labels mean
The displayed percentage is an AI-writing signal on Genutext's scale. It is not the probability that a person cheated.
| Displayed range | Label | Responsible reading |
|---|---|---|
| 0–29 | Likely Human | The analysed text showed fewer AI-like signals, but a low score does not prove human authorship. |
| 30–59 | Mixed Content | The result is not conclusive. Review the highlighted passages, writing process, task and permitted assistance. |
| 60–100 | Likely AI Generated | The text showed stronger AI-like signals. Treat this as a reason to review, not as a disciplinary finding. |
Data handling
Submitted text is processed, then discarded
Genutext is designed so the writing itself is not retained in the scan history.
The service sends submitted text to its analysis provider to produce the result. Genutext stores scan metadata and score summaries for account history, but not the submitted text or the detailed passage breakdown.
The detailed paid result is temporarily held in browser session storage. An emailed report is the option for keeping a full copy. Review the privacy policy before submitting student work, confidential material or personal data.
Try a first pass
Check a short sample, then keep the result in context
The free preview accepts 300 characters to 350 words of English text and returns a document-level AI signal.
